Welcome to the new website of Indiana's only all-breed equine club! The ISHA was founded back in 1933. We're an organization with over 75 years experience with horses and horse shows.
ISHA is the only ALL BREED association in the state of Indiana that offers something for every breed of horse and horse owner. We offer English, Western, Hunter/Jumper and Dressage shows at various dates throughout the year. Our goal is to keep showing affordable and offer a place where everyone is welcome. The ISHA is a family-oriented organization and we're excited that you're here to check us out!

Hello everyone! I hope your holiday season was as rewarding as mine was. As your new ISHA President, I am looking forward to a fun and eventful show season in 2011. This organization has a very long and successful history and I feel honored to be able to represent us as President. Thank you in advance for your support for ISHA this year!
ISHA is moving forward with some new plans for 2011. Our show formats have changed over the last year and we are making further changes for this upcoming year. All horse clubs have been challenged over the last several years as economic recession has affected show entries across the board. A-rated shows are as affected as local shows. In response to the new challenges for us as a state-wide club, ISHA has decided to institute some pro-active changes that we hope will enable us to have a very successful year.
We recognize that in order to survive as an organization, we must collaborate with other organizations so that we can be more effective with our resources. Consequently, we have arranged to work with both the Indiana Arabian Horse Club (IAHC) and Hartmeyer Stable and Saddlery to help keep our overhead costs down with our Spring and Fall shows this year. We will be sharing costs at the Hendrick’s County site with IAHC who is working on a planned show on Sunday, following our show. We also will be collaborating with Hartmeyers tournament show by holding our Fall show there in combination with their Fall Tournament show. We are thrilled to be working with both groups and hope that you will make every effort to attend our shows and those of our affiliates this year. Also in the works is a Speed Show to be held on Friday evening, May 20th at the Hendricks County site. Many thanks to Katy and Kandi Allen for taking the lead here.
First of all, we have moved our Spring show to the Hendrick’s County 4-H Fairgrounds and scheduled our show for Saturday, May 21st. Later in this issue, you will see a “tentative” showbill that is a working document. Please review it carefully and feel free to contact us if you see any mistakes or want to add any classes, feel free to contact us with your suggestions! Our Fall show will be at Hartmeyer Stable and Saddlery in Muncie, Indiana, on Saturday, September 10th. Amanda and Jane have been wonderful to work with and we are looking forward to staging a show in that part of the state for the first time in many years. As with all of our ISHA events, we need help with the in and out gates, with the office, with ring stewarding and ribbons again this year. Please consider giving us a couple of hours at each of the shows to help us make them successful
Again this year, we will be raffling a miniature horse at the Hoosier Horse Fair (HHF), April 1-3. Our HHF committee will be contacting you to ask you to volunteer to work in the booth this year. ISHA will provide tickets for volunteers who give 2 or more hours. Please let them hear from you. Rob and Ruth Lickliter and Sandy Bryant are in charge of setting up and tearing down and will need help to get it done this year. Also, contact Rob or Ruth to volunteer in manning the booth.
As always, remember that this is your organization. We have a very dynamic board of directors. We have some new faces this year and I’m thrilled to welcome them to ISHA’s board. As members, please remember we need your input and your ideas. Feel free to contact anyone on your board to voice your opinions, concerns or ideas. Better yet, try to attend our next meeting on February 20, at 2:00 pm at Jonathan Byrd’s Cafeteria in Greenwood, Indiana!
